Gordon Hogan
Founder of Stagetrac
Built in Australia. Built from experience.
The Short Version
I've spent over 20 years working in production environments.
I've tracked jobs on paper. I've chased missing job cards. I've tried to read handwriting covered in grease. I've watched hours disappear because there was no clear system.
Stagetrac wasn't built in a boardroom.
It was built from frustration, experience, and a simple question:
Why are workshops still doing this the hard way?
The Story
For two decades I worked inside real workshops. CNC machines, fabrication floors, pressure to meet deadlines, and the constant challenge of knowing exactly where time was being spent.
Paper systems always created problems:
- Job cards get dirty
- Writing becomes unreadable
- Hours are missed
- Accountability is unclear
- Managers have no real-time visibility
When it comes time to quote, invoice, or review performance, you're guessing.
I knew there had to be a better way.
Instead of waiting for someone else to solve it, I built Stagetrac.
Not as a complicated enterprise system. Not as something that needs servers, consultants, or weeks of setup.
But as something simple:
- Scan a QR code
- Log the work
- See what's happening in real time
That's it.
Why I Built It This Way
Most production software is designed by tech companies.
Stagetrac was designed by someone who actually worked the floor.
That means:
- It's simple enough for any worker to use
- It takes minutes to set up
- It doesn't require training days
- It doesn't lock you into contracts
- It solves the real problems workshops face
And if something is missing, I want to know about it.
Because Stagetrac is not just software.
It's something I'm building alongside the businesses that use it.
Built in Mackay
Stagetrac was built right here in Mackay, Queensland.
If you're local, I can visit your workshop.
If you're interstate, I'm still one message away.
This isn't a faceless company.
It's me.
And I care deeply about building something that genuinely improves production environments.
